I’m not an expert; but after looking at political turmoil in the last few decades I tend to categorize this stage as the “march of the idealists”, lovely bunch of people who would not hurt a fly.
Not sure if when or how the less kind sort of people come in. Usually, something has to rile up those people. And it’s not done by sympathetic stories or appeals to the heart strings.
There’s propaganda - pro: works everytime, con: only in certain ways like lying to people.
And there reporting the truth about trump and fascism - pro: it’s the truth and will get things moving, con: it requires corporate media to do it, and they’re literally owned by billionaires and republiQans.
Yes; so one can view this as state propaganda ( officially done by the nation).
That is hard to work around. But it has limits and the social fabric of the country is changing: both by technology and a rebound of the internal mass migrations of the last few decades.
