This isn’t what most houses are like in the US. Sure, there’s a lot like them, but places that don’t have a strong HOA (most places) become very diverse after a while. My home was built in the 60s and was initially very similar to the ones around it. Over time each house gets changed little by little and every house becomes unique.

Lemmy’s not an alternative to Twitter, it’s an alternative to Reddit. It’s not even terribly great at that either because of Reddit’s sheer size.
I’d say that the vast majority of people on Twitter couldn’t care less about Elon Musk himself. However, Twitter is actually going downhill now and the only ads I see anymore are either hardcore porn or scams. That’s what’s going to drive people off Twitter.
There is literally no other realistic alternative too it; they’re simply all too small. I still follow many trusted news sources and politicians on it as well as fandoms.
I don’t think it should be an instance decision. The best part about the fediverse is that we can pick and choose what we want to see.

I think the issue is with normalizing unhealthy bodies. idc how you look as long as you’re healthy, but society is becoming increasingly accepting of obviously unhealthy lifestyles and bodies. It’s no better than anorexia.
