Still using the S9 with only the back and sides cracked. Only put 50€ into replacing the battery and jack. This has got to last until 2027 at least until replaceable batteries hopefully become a thing again.

This reminded me of an episode of Mind Field, which shows significant improvent in cases of ADHD, Migraines, and a skin picking disorder in kids just through the placebo effect.
They use elaborate set ups and suggestions like a turned off MRI machine, fake nurses and doctors in lab coats, etc. And the kids are actually told, that it’s their brain doing the healing, not the machine.
I’ve been using Kde for about 3 years now and to be fair, do have some issues from time to time.
Most annoying has to be that when I try to launch discord for example, I type “discor” and press enter immediately. But it hasn’t really registered the “r” yet so it launches discover instead. But I just learned to wait a bit after typing.
Kde also had some crashes, although very rarely. So nothing I really care about.
The original comic is by George Alexopoulos. He is right wing and has drawn some questionable comics. Source
In my city there is a T intersection where the top part of the T is a busy road with a traffic light and I once saw some kids pressing the button as a “joke” when they are not even crossing. Usually its always green but if it turns red it causes a huge lineup of cars, especially during rush hour.
Personally, I’ve been really enjoying the technical side of vanilla minecraft. Like building farms, machines and automation. So after I saw you mention quarries, I wanted to share my recent project. This machine destroys over 5 million blocks in total, and it’s so satisfying to see it run.
I found FreeTube just recently and I really like it so far. It’s a desktop app that uses electron and the Invidious API. It supports 1080p and is really snappy, at least for me. https://freetubeapp.io
Tracking can be disabled
Tracking is one of the main reasons I switched to Linux. You simply can’t know if Microsoft is tracking you, even if you turn off all of the settings. That is because it’s closed source.
Bloatware can be uninstalled manually/Winget/Chris Titus Tech Tools etc
Apart from this beeing exclusive to advanced users, in my experience, after updates or at least a reinstall you would have to do it again. And that was just getting on my nerves.
I never get Ads on Windows
That doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen for anyone else.
Look, maybe Linux is just not for you I get that. You’ve come accustomed to Windows and are happy with how it works for you. But for some people it might be a good choice. To give an example from my own life:
I recently installed Debian 12 KDE (looks like windows) on my step dads laptop. He is not technically inclined at all mind you. And apart from setting up auto mounting his ssd, I never had to give him tech support again after that and he is very happy with it.

If you just want to change your IP, there is no reason to use Mullvad. If you care about your privacy Mullvad is great. You can pay in xmr or even in cash by mail.
Maybe he wants Investors to think that his site will be really good for targeted ads.
Yeah. I don’t know why but I also can’t open it, shared it using Jerboa. But the reason is basically AI scraping and that AI/LLM’s can spit out their training data so that notice could show up there. They provided this article: https://stackdiary.com/chatgpts-training-data-can-be-exposed-via-a-divergence-attack/
Doesn’t make sense tho, why would they advertise on lemmy of all places. It’s so niche…
Are you actually using beet juice? I would recommend sand, fine gravel or something else that prevents slipping.
Thanks for the tip! Im gonna buy some needles from the store tomorrow to try it out.
I don’t think the cost is the problem, as a usb-c port can be had for less than 3$ for an Individual. I think its more that manufacturers don’t think this is something most people want and therefore doesn’t make sense for them to offer.
I used to use mine pretty regularly for some wired IEM’s and sometimes connecting it to my PC.
But a couple months ago, I put my phone in a bag of silica gel balls to absorb some water after it got wet.
Cannot recommend this to anyone else though… because those balls actually have roughly the same diameter as the headphone jack and one got completely stuck inside, making the port unusable. :(
I meant the curved sides of the front screen. The metal is just scratched.
