  • I never said he was maga. I said current evidence cannot place him neatly into any political box. Here are some of the sources I checked while writing my previous comment, so feel free to read them yourself.

    MSN

    NPR

    ABC

    CBS

BBC Okay this one says he was leaning left-wing and gay/trans-rights, according to his Mormon mother (Mormons are a religious cult that tends to lean conservative and anti-gay rights). You can decide for yourself whether you want to trust her judgement on this.

It might be hard to notice from outside America, but right-wing media has been slowly and deliberately converting itself into a massive propaganda machine over the last 40-50 years. We’ve finally reached the point where facts barely matter in those circles, and anyone in a place of authority can dump whatever they want to be true into the public consciousness. You should take what you read from right-wing sources with a huge grain if salt.

Also, if he had a clear left-wong ideology, you’d expect to see some people on the internet deifying him like Luigi Mangione.

  • He said a pretty innoculus thing about right-wing media trying so hard to make the Kirk shooter fit their agenda (which they objectively were), and Disney thought they should fire him over it because it would make the president mad at them (it did). He wasn’t directly referring to the shooter or Kirk’s politics, just the reaction from right-wing media.

As far as the facts are concerned we don’t seem to know much. The Kirk shooter was not clearly politically aligned to any party, and all the details about his trans roommate are relatively unsubstantiated (imo).

It also doesn’t help that the current FBI director, Kash Patel, appears to be trying to spin a very specific narrative (also seen in other recent crimes). This makes it harder to trust some of the evidence from the FBI (e.g. the alleged text logs from the killer to his roommate that admit to the crime and corroborate a bunch of evidence, but somehow reveal no new evidence in the process)
