Grumble bumble. It’s hard for me to believe that this many lemmings have never dated. We have enough people that talk about kids and homes and various ‘adult that is settled’ things where I would not have believed there are enough incels here to even feel their presence. Men get horny, women get horny, republicans and the rich should be kept away from kids. All of these things should be well known.

With that aside, it’s the intense focus on a single community, very constant posting, and being on lemmy of all places, that leads me to think it’s a group or even just a person acting intentionally to gauge the reaction or merely push the feeling of a community. What attraction would this place hold over the much larger and well known areas of reddit, instagram, etc. for a (supposedly) 18 year old chica from europe? No matter how horny.

I think magical chairs would be more popular if this was an end possibility. Make it a double removal from the game: first, the person who didn’t make it to a chair in time, and second, the person they choose to sit with. The second person can stay in the game by doing X to the first person. Choose X depending on how horny/silly/friendly the game should be in your group.

If you ever heard or saw the my sides reaction in 4chan, it was kind of amazing to eventually learn that it was an intentional push by a team. It’s not much different than the bronies: first it was mockery, then it was people ironically posting to annoy the mockers, then it was people believing the ironic posts were real, and then it went crazy.

Same here. One poster, violet, suddenly made a bunch of slightly sexual, titillating memes on lemmyshitpost, and now the entire community seems to be mostly hornyposting. I would bet dollars-to-donuts that it’s an intentional push to gauge how a community reacts. The people now picking up on it are ‘adapting’ to the community’s response because everyone loves seeing the little notification light up that someone has replied to you.

The issue with that is it would create a very large lever arm (not really a lever arm, but it’s the closest way I have to describe it) with the buoyancy force of the neck disappearing unless the neck is placed in the water, and if the giraffe is holding it’s head up higher, the angle necessary to have the neck in the water while the body (the other significant buoyancy provider) is also in the water would dunk even more of the giraffe’s face in the water, almost certainly plunging the giraffe’s nostrils and mouth below the surface.

That’s pretty good money for doctors that are only working a 60 hour month. Compared to full time doctors, which supposedly average ~400k a year, that’s actually coming out better. (Sort of, https://medschoolinsiders.com/pre-med/how-much-do-doctors-make/ says that a cardiologist will be working 60 hour weeks, which would be 240 a month, or four times as much as this 60 hour a month doc).

Forbes also has slightly different numbers, but it’s pretty clearly written by ai, so take it with a grain of salt.

Glassdoor, which is probably biased by who goes on there and puts in info, says the average is closer to 300k, which is then really close for someone working less than 50% of the ‘average’ amount of hours in a month.

If I were a doctor in tennessee, I’d probably consider it. I seem to recall that emergency medicine doctors moonlight quite a bit, so add in another 5-10 days working in the better paying hospitals near nashville and boost that ~200k to somewhere like 400-500k.

I know a vet who used to do the ‘relief shift’ thing, and he was pulling $200/hr. I would imagine a doctor can swing it as well. And yeah, if I even did that for two months, it would be life changing money for me.

Pretty close! I know it runs through houston and up to the northeast, maybe passing through shreveport or texarkana as the next major city. Oh, I haven’t been up there in years. My idiot sister made the brilliant decision to move from those beautiful lands down to a desert, and I haven’t had a reason to go back yet. I loved the view from the puget sound, and seeing mountains in every direction if you can get a little elevation is just amazing.

While someone else already explained what was going on, as someone who HAS stood in the roadway on a rural highway to warn incoming drivers about a tree on the road, it is surprising how close you can get and not notice a giant tree fallen into the roadway.

Properly adjusted lights don’t illuminate things up high, and the grey/brown muck that is the road and the tree in the dark isn’t illuminated until it is way too late. Mind you, this was in an area where the only light was the moon and stars, so you aren’t going to be seeing much outside of your headlights because your eyes are adjusted to that little patch of yellow. The bit of reflective lighting down low just might help some folks.

There was an old highway that they’re converting to an interstate, and because they have some weird naming convention it’s going to be Interstate Highway 69. I straight up offered to the friend that told me about it that I would fly in and 69 him, but it was a no go.
