41·8 days agohonestly, It takes 10 minutes to have a fully working Void Linux install with plasma, pipewire, any GPU you want and most of common packages ( repos are indeed lacking compared to arch, but nothing unsolvable).
And yeah… Runs like a dream.

Blorp is missing from that list. It’s has been my goto client for lemmy and piefed for a while now.
Same experience with bazzite.I had a very strange issue with packages completly gone after using LACT to experiment and managing to freeze my os.
TBH I realised immutable systems aren’t for me and I am not a linux noob, so I immediately went back to Arch and never looked back.
archinstall is amazing btw. Best installer by far IMHO. shit free, takes 30s to setup an arch system with great defaults. Nothing beats it for me.
Edit: for me someone using “I use void btw” would make more sense.

Yes and no. Apple managed to fuck that up using something called “notarized apps”. Guess how many apps you can sideload? I think you have more than enough fingers to do that easily.
I orderes a new 5700x 2 days ago fearing they might vanish forever as there are probably only stocks left.
I had one added for around 2 weeks in my amazon cart, but over here, in Spain, they went out of stock meanwhile, so I managed to order one from pccomponentes.com and I’m glad I did.
I still get to keep my 32 Gb DDR4 for a couple more years, hopefully.

Fair. Those do deserve donations. I’m very interested in hardware that’s able to compete with the likes of Apple and Pixels, but am reluctant to throw my money at dreams for now. I’m really rooting for more linux phones and would just ship in a heartbeat if they become viable.

Im still on webos 24. Should I stick with it forever? I also use pihole and dev portal homebrew.

Void documentation.I must admit it took me 3-4 tries to get it right,but last one was with btrfs subvolumes,so that one took a bit longer.
In any case, if you stick to the official documentation and don’t lose yourself in multi case scenarios, you’ll be fine.
