I just looked at the git history 2 days later and there are around 7 committers now. It may yet fail, but it is not just one person any more. Also, though, like liberally why lol. vim is such garbage. helix and kakoune are way better.

Well, yes, you shouldn’t trust the US government or any other government out of the control of its people.

Didn’t the Supreme Court just say that was illegal?

Hm. Thanks, Iran?!

I see nothing wrong. Just like a panel on AIDS aims to get rid of AIDS, the Board of Peace aims to get rid of peace.

Also, how are Trump, Starmer, and others still trying to make this about nuclear weapons? Nuclear weapons are state insurance. Their only use is to prevent a foreign power from using force to destroy or control a state. Kind of like what Trump is doing to Iran right now. This latest foreign intervention will only encourage whoever takes over to develop nuclear weapons faster, to avoid exactly this scenario in the future.

Donald Trump tells the truth. I didn’t think he had it in him.

(Also, guess who has stolen land from a few different non-NATO states (Chechnia, Georgia, Ukraine), but has never dared steal land from a NATO state?)

Western media is portraying Israeli bombs as good? Who? Fox doesn’t count.

For as long as Russia is willing to use bombs to steal land, Europe needs bombs. Obviously.

Not a single person I have ever talked to defends Israel’s land grab while condemning Russia’s. NATO did some stupid shit now and then, but overwhelmingly, their only purpose is to promise to crush Russia if it ever tries a land grab on a NATO state.
Maybe you’re not a Chinese bot account, but you are isomorphic to a Chinese bot account.
Showed up here a month later. The link is dead. Can anybody find this again? I already looked on the web archive. It’s not there.
Openly admitting the average Murcan has the intelligence and education of a child.
But yeah, you’re right. The people aren’t in control, and haven’t been for some time. One wouldn’t expect them to be well-educated.

Greenland should offer to sell it for one quadrillion dollars. Lend the US the money and catch them in a debt trap they can never escape.

Oh wait, I see I haven’t answered your question. The land has strategic value because it sits between Russia and North America. During the Cold War in particular, it was a good place to put early warning radar to detect nuclear launches. Now, for example, the waters around the island are patrolled for Russian submarines and stuff. And as the Arctic Ocean’s surface ice thaws, there are valuable trade routes there that different states want to control. And there might be some fancy minerals on the island itself.

@[email protected] is right. This isn’t about arctic security or deterrence at all. The US military already has unlimited access to the whole island and its airspace. The only reason Trump wants it to be a part of the US is because he is a manbaby and the grown-ups have all told him he can’t have it.

I would say this is not strictly news. It reads more like opinion, and is part of this new “This is Europe” newsletter. I don’t know why the Guardian put this article in their news section.
lol, there is a place on this table for pedestrian-pedestrian crashes.
