We never know there could be a huge mega virus or giant mass cult death or something look on the bright side /s
I think this is dumb— not because he shouldn’t do it— or that it shouldn’t be illegal— but all the presidents since Bush Jr have used the same vague authorizations for fighting terrorism to justify strikes all over the Middle East and Africa— so there is precedent even if stupid precedent. Instead congress should just rescind those articles and take back their war declaration power. Except that they would also have to revoke the 1950s document that lets the president basically carry on a war for 60 days… it’s stupid, but I don’t see impeachment for this offense possible and just weakens the threat for the future. But maybe it’s already toast.

I feel this legacy auto really needs to catch up— I just don’t get it they have the money just hire 50 good software people and stick them in a room for 1.5 years and they could have a nice polished stack— just get your legacy hardware / software people to offer a nice api with good documentation for querying sensor data for the non critical infotainment system.
Under rated comment— is planned excercise in Finland it seems although they don’t mention tankers so who knows
I would say it can sometimes be nice to have an old Laptop for this purpose, you have to slightly over build your solar but can be nice to have a mouse and keyboard attached and monitor, ssh works. Still have an hp laptop with a core i5 2nd gen sitting out in my greenhouse, is a little more power hungry but not terrible on idle, and is nice to be able to configure changes to watering without going back inside or wrecking the zen by bringing phone.
Hey if it’s still out there as open source could finally fix those bugs lol!
But yeah seems interesting especially if it had a second life once it was opened sourced. It kinda boggles my mind how much companies are willing to scrap things after putting so much work into it, but I guess that’s the whole sunk cost thing but still.
Plenty of nostalgia for toon town so if it was used could broaden audience of video def.
Thanks for your ‘rant’ was interesting seeing some of the same problems that pop up for me in my current game dev (how to handle when to load certain things).
One side doing bad things doesn’t make another side doing bad things ok. Democracy isn’t perfect but it is better than the rest of the systems. Money in politics sours the pot.
Eh I dunno there’s so much infrastructure that is human centric; if you could make a humanoid robot it could easily traverse all the human designed places
This feels like the kinda project that should have a 1hr YouTube indie doc about it
Ok this is interesting can I ask how you know that they scaled back their compute? Without looking into it too much it seemed like they were full steam ahead (revamping three mile island).
You should back up your windows 10 pc as an image and use it as a virtual machine on the Mac or some other Linux environment. Once support stops nothing really bad would happen, besides security stuff and maybe perhaps some unexpected hugs. So you could just disconnect it from the internet too but the VM option isn’t reliant on the hardware which could go bad.

I would think it’s a combination of two things: stage fright / performance anxiety, and just the social load that another humans presence requires; your brain pends some of its processing power on reading their posture and emotions and social ques.
Well I just graduated and it took 5 1/2 years, granted I took a year off for covid, but I think I’m doing fine, plus if my experience is anything to go by when your slightly older you take things more seriously which can be beneficial— don’t sweat it!

I am also interested in said experiences
I think it says 23Hz or something
I dunno I was a teenager last decade; sure people got anxious when there were the drills, but mostly people are desensitized to it.
It’s sorta like hearing about a fire in a far off place, or an earthquake, it could happen here, and that would be scary, and you feel bad, but at the end of the day if you let yourself worry about it you would just be in a constant state of panic.
So you talk a bit about legislation afterward and then go back to worrying about finding a job that pays a living wage. Since that economic catastrophe is not, as in the former case, a matter of statistical bad luck but an approaching inevitability.
