If I’m retaining knowledge I’ll go early 60s in Japan. Have fun and get rich in the miracle economy and protect myself from the bubble bursting in the early 90s. Then I’m loaded and living in a great place.

I got a machine to set up as a media server and it had Windows preloaded. I’m a Windows user primarily and after an hour I got the shits and installed Mint. Command line installing is so much simpler.
It’s not anime but one of the seasons of the Japanese reality show Terrace House used The New Romantics by Taylor Swift which was a bonus track for 1989 Deluxe.
It didn’t make it to the global release of the show due to licensing.
Samurai Champloo. Listen to the Departure soundtrack and then go down the rabbit hole of Nujabes’ work.
Climate Denier’s Playbook is great. After enjoying Rollie’s YouTube stuff for so long it’s nice to see it translates well with bouncing off someone instead of just monologuing.
A fire extinguisher
I wanted a brown girl and ended up with a grey boy who feels like a perfect personality match for me. My goal is life is to be as chill as my cat.
Haikyu is great. It’s about volleyball and follows the same sort of theme of DBZ about constantly pushing to improve.
If you liked the environment and feel of Cowboy Bebop you might enjoy Samurai Champloo. Same director but replace jazz with hip hop and space with feudal Japan. I think it’s a masterpiece.
I use them daily at work. Luckily I found a pair with a lightning connector. I also use cable in the car (it’s too old for Bluetooth) and it’s a pain not being able to charge and listen.
Champloo is the gateway to Nujabes. It’s a beautiful world to get lost in.
Bebop is just really fucking good.
I’m mostly Messenger. I have WhatsApp and standard SMS for a handful of people. I did use Signal for a while but ended up back on Messenger. I’ve used WeChat in the past but don’t have the need anymore.
I’d like to use something a bit more federated but Messenger is where the people are.
There are a couple of alternate universe Evangelion manga that I would get into production.
AlienBlue and then Slide. I tried Apollo but didn’t like it. Official one was trash.
I use Spotify and my Navidrome/Substreamer setup for music. Apple Podcasts for podcasts. I tried Spotify for simplicity but the amount of ads offended me, especially given I have Premium.
Mainly work and driving for music, work for podcasts. Sometimes music at home but rarely for any extended period and if I do, it’s usually a record.
Chris Hemsworth. He was on holiday and very quiet, keeping to himself. I was staff aiding with his transport.
It’s probably Lemmy.world
But the beauty of federation is that it’s about the size of the fleet, not any specific ship.
I used to be pretty negative and aggressive until I realised that if I talked to anyone else the way talked to myself I would get hit.
Now I’m simple and encouraging. Generally a nice little “come on” followed by a simple “you’ll get through it”, “not long now”, “you can do it”, “it’ll be alright”. That sort of thing. If I ever had a coach for anything that’s how I’d want to be pushed.
The answer to both is iPod Classic.
The best thing about Molex is I haven’t had to touch it for a while.
70-120 years old? Wouldn’t some of this be public domain now?
