What I find quite interesting is that sync is obviously very feature rich, it’s why it was many people’s preferred client.
I just downloaded a few of the others and here’s a few things:
- you can set different sort methods based on view. This feels important at the moment when communities are smaller. I have my subs set to New but Instance and All to something else
- feed view customisations are super deep. Nice to have obviously but this is where all the inherited value from the old reddit app is
- gesture navigation still feels better than all others but I might be biased because I’m used to it
However, it’s undeniable that there are still some basic things it doesn’t handle perfectly. At the moment the perks outweigh the missing bits for me, BUT I found the pricing at launch to be optimistic at best, so like another commenter, I’m using the free version and blocking ads via Blokada and I’m happy enough
It would be great if it did everything perfectly I agree but that’s true for all the apps rn

Check out Haunted City, the blades in the dark RPG actual play podcast. Abu is the chaos agent in this and has some amazing scenes. One of the best

It’s also relatively tiny so a bit unreasonable to expect things to be updated daily.
I’m not really seeing any major issues anyway - what is so broken that OP is so annoyed about? Only thing im aware of is the Instances button not working, which yeah that’s true. Not really a major issue though?

That was due to Google IIRC. I think the thing a lot of people don’t really get, is that this app is made by a small team (believe just one person with some general adhoc help).
It’s a fantastic content browsing experience with a ton of features. It might not be sustainable still given the small user numbers on Lemmy. I don’t know.
This user seems to have an edge case that is probably a lower priority. Doesn’t seem to require the PSA really. Obviously no bugs would be great but that’s not really how software works unfortunately.
I mean I guess it’s the last solution, after laws that work for people, politics that work for people etc etc
Even if the attacker gets caught, if it changes minds enough to overhaul the American healthcare system then you could say it was worth doing, when compared to the many lives lost to corporate greed.
I doubt it will but let’s see!
