Well, the “mówić” part is not present, the root of the word is more similar to “niemy”, meaning “mute”; the Polish word comes from “non-speaker”, as in “not speaking at all”. but that’s just speculation on my part, I’m no linguist or etymologist 🤷‍♀️

They keep on doing it because it’s an addictive substance and/or as a form of self harm, unfortunately. Benadryl is very cheap and easy to get, so troubled teenagers try it looking for a break from reality, thinking hallucinogens are all similar. But for real, for those who are curious: the border between Germany and Poland is effectively the border between western and eastern Europe. So to Slav people Germans lived right over there, and yet spoke something incomprehensible; so we called them “mute” (in Poland at least). If I can’t understand you you are mute to me, basically. And the word for “Germans” is the same as for “Germany”, so we call the country itself mutes 😅

Why would I hate Skyler

My grandma insists seasoning and salt are unhealthy, but at the same time drenches everything she makes in fat. She grows all vegetables herself, it’s her point of pride. But she makes sure they get a large as possible, so all the taste and nutrition are diluted beyond comprehension.

Yeah, the modern society teaches us that if we have any problems, be it health, financial or anything else, it’s all fixable and we are supposed to fix it. Yet there is so much we don’t have control over. Mental health problems are especially hard to tackle, as there are so few options, they are expensive, time consuming and often don’t really help.

I would never lick my lips if they were dry, it would just make it worse.

Because there is no coming back.

The jury is still out.

That’s what my partner used to say to me before he got the diagnosis. It sounded as if he never had any thoughts in his head. It put a strain on our relationship too, because he used to answer this those times I noticed he wasn’t listening while I was talking and asked what he was thinking about. Sometimes it seemed like he didn’t care at all.

Turns out he has too many thoughts in his head, and “nothing” was indeed the easiest answer. I guess it doesn’t really matter what the truth is to a random person, but it does matter to your friends and family.
