We have free sitting at our office, so I sit in different floors throughout the workweek and sometimes get “the bad chair” if all the good ones are taken. It sucks. I would rather be in a cubicle.

I didn’t ask AI to generate new icons, but to extract SVG code from individual icons wee decided to use and migrate my existing icon components to the new SVG code. It’s monkey work and I wanted to see if it could manage.

Well, the “mówić” part is not present, the root of the word is more similar to “niemy”, meaning “mute”; the Polish word comes from “non-speaker”, as in “not speaking at all”. but that’s just speculation on my part, I’m no linguist or etymologist 🤷‍♀️

But for real, for those who are curious: the border between Germany and Poland is effectively the border between western and eastern Europe. So to Slav people Germans lived right over there, and yet spoke something incomprehensible; so we called them “mute” (in Poland at least). If I can’t understand you you are mute to me, basically. And the word for “Germans” is the same as for “Germany”, so we call the country itself mutes 😅

Isn’t this one about foreign bee species, such as honey bees, are introduced into ecosystems where they outnumber native bees? And they eat all the nectar but do a horrible job of pollinating so the situation ends up worse? Sounds like colonization, not racism.

My grandma insists seasoning and salt are unhealthy, but at the same time drenches everything she makes in fat. She grows all vegetables herself, it’s her point of pride. But she makes sure they get a large as possible, so all the taste and nutrition are diluted beyond comprehension.

Yeah, the modern society teaches us that if we have any problems, be it health, financial or anything else, it’s all fixable and we are supposed to fix it. Yet there is so much we don’t have control over. Mental health problems are especially hard to tackle, as there are so few options, they are expensive, time consuming and often don’t really help.

I would never lick my lips if they were dry, it would just make it worse.

Because there is no coming back.
