  • My apologies for taking yours, most hypothetical discussions I have still operate under the pretense of reality and what’s currently possible.

I imagine if they were 100% effective by some means, you still wouldn’t be very popular. Lies are a pretty common part of human conversation. You might get sick of them constantly alarming you for small, white lies. Unless you could filter them to only alert for bigger lies, in which case they’d probably find some use by law enforcement and intelligence agencies, but probably still not be very well-liked by the average person.

  • Would depend how they work, but assuming we’re using conventional technology and not some magic doohickey that can 100% verify the truth, then you’d probably just get shunned by your peers. Technology cannot accurately verify whether someone is lying unless it’s about an objective fact, and even then, its database may be out of date when someone’s informing you of a new discovery. If you’re using an LLM, then it may just make random shit up. And if you’re using a corporate LLM, then you’re transmitting everything you see and hear to some corporation, where they may keep that data for whatever they please, simply so you can have a popup that tells you either a lie itself, or something you should be able to surmise by yourself. You’re not a corporation, so likely people wouldn’t revolt against the glasses like they do against Facebook’s, they’d just stop talking to you.

    Presumptuous and judgemental

If I see someone litter on the street, I’m going to assume the worst of them, because littering is bad. If I see someone kick a puppy, I’m going to assume the worst of them, because kicking puppies is bad. And if I see an event using “AI” for its promotional material, any of it, I’m going to assume the worst of it, because using “AI” is bad. There are certain things that, when done in view of other people, will almost universally turn them against you. Your own promotional material should not be one of these things, but using generated images makes it such. If you don’t have the time or money for a fancy flyer, you use simple word art tools (of which there are many free online), or even just print out a paper with information in plain text. Even that would endear more people to your event than using an image generator.

  • As someone who’s used Claude and most other big LLMs as part of my job, they’re all absolutely useless. They don’t have the capacity for thought or care, all they are is a word generation algorithm similar to Cleverbot. So you can’t rely on them for useful information, you can’t rely on them for remembering info you told them, half the time it feels like talking to a brick wall (because you essentially are), and their only actual value is to CEOs as something they can blame layoffs on, even when it’s bullshit.

  • TL;DR of the above for anyone else: Socializing is a muscle which can and should be exercised.

Which I actually wholeheartedly agree with. I had a similar experience to you, though not as extreme. I had maybe one friend, didn’t talk to people, considered myself an introvert, basically the typical person you’re talking about. Then I met someone who taught me how to exercise that muscle, and encouraged me to meet other people. Took some time, but I went from having one friend, to having over a dozen. And I’m capable of actually talking to people I don’t know now, instead of clamming up and getting anxious, most of the time. Barring certain physical or mental disabilities, I always try to encourage my introvert friends to talk to others more, as much as it’s a horribly embarrassing, awkward, and especially draining experience at first.

This all being said, you sound like a douche. Especially with that last paragraph. Chill, my dude. Don’t immediately assume you’re gonna be under attack. There’s hardly enough people on this site to spam you with replies anyways.
