Roughly speaking you’d need to change the barrel every ~1000 rounds, and WW1 MGs shoot at ~200 rounds per minute, so you’d need to swap the barrel once every 5 minutes of continuous shooting. It could be half of that tho, depending on the barrel and the gun.

I agree with them entirely. The US is currently paralysed by a system where you need both a president and congress to agree before you can do anything, so if you have one opposed to the other then the entire government is basically useless and unable to reform anything until the president/balance of congress changes.

A parliamentary system avoids that problem by design - if the PM can’t get enough votes from the parliament, then he doesn’t have enough to “form a government” (I.e. become PM) in the first place. And if he ever loses majority support in parliament and thus can’t pass any bills, then parliament can kick him out via a No Confidence vote with simple majority support, so that someone who does have majority support (or gains it via negotiating support from independents/minor parties) can become PM themselves and the government is able to function.

Switching to a parliamentary system would be the quickest and easiest method of preventing another situation like Obama’s uselessness for most of his presidency because of a Republican-controlled senate.

No military is capable of defeating thermodynamics - resistance has known activity on every region on the planet, and apparently on every body in the galaxy too. Just the cost of sending an occupation force to Jupiter would be ruinous, let alone Afghanistan.

There’s no good way to tell if the containers are full of oil (shipping containers for liquids do exist, and failing that, so do barrels), so it could be an effective way of breaking the blockade.

We usually have things called elections to find out what people want to do.

How many democratic countries in defensive wars (ones where they have skin in the game) have held elections mid-war? Nobody doubts Britain’s a democracy, but they suspended elections in WW2. And it’s not like Churchill became PM fresh off an election campaign himself.

Is it, though? Even with a jungle mag or such? Dropping an entire gun, pulling out and aiming an entire new gun sounds pretty slow when you think about it.

I played through the Tomb Raider reboot with a controller, mainly because I thought it would be mostly non-gun stuff (and I was sort of right) and the non-gun stuff played easier with it. Also I use IJKL instead of WASD and I didn’t want to have to rebind literally every single key on yet another game. Controllers suck for aiming regardless of which thumbstick I use to aim, so there’s no point rebinding it and I can just use defaults.

It failed for multiple reasons, but a big reason was that they tried to outsource the hardware and basically just got reskins of existing gaming-PC prebuilds, which didn’t actually make PCs any less confusing. And they didn’t actually save money (and some were overpriced scams) so buyers were basically forced to do as much research as buying an actual gaming PC.

All of that will be solved, and the software/UX/other stuff you mentioned are far more mature, like you say.

Theoretically people could use it for a cheap non-gaming PC, except the cheapest non-gaming PC would be non-gaming specs.

Anyone using it for cheap crypto-mining is an idiot, the cheap option there is a rack full of bang-for-buck GPUs.
