I might have loved it if it didn’t run like a slide show on fairly decent PC hardware. I haven’t been able to even make it on the ship without these huge frame drops. There’s no way to fix it that I can see. It makes it hard to deal with. Also, why is the FOV so close, I can practically smell the commander’s hair? Right, if we back off the FOV, we can barely maintain 30 FPS. It’s another unoptimized game that we are just supposed to enjoy cause Star Trek. I’m tired, boss.

Luckily, it’s a lot easier to train electronics inspectors than decent coders who can follow the whole system or module design. That should help for a bit but, man, to be the QA person looking at that atrocity…

That is slightly part of the problem but, no where near the totality of the issue. The broader issue is capitalism only works with the fear of homelessness and being cast out if you dont dance to their tune. Some of the population must be unemployed to keep the working class in fear. If you didnt have to work for housing, food, and healthcare, would you put up with the bullshit we do at a job? I certainly wouldn’t. They know that too.

As much as I was annoyed by the tone of the statement made by previous poster, we have to reach out and lift up. We cannot keep putting the boot down on people just because their life took a path or they are making choices we feel are incomprehensible and must require a defect of some sort.

I wanna say first that is a tragedy you are homeless and I wish the best for you in finding permanent lodging but your statement raises some questions. How are you preparing these foods? If you are as homeless as you purport, are you using a campfire, or a communal kitchen, or are your meals prepared for you? How are you procuring your groceries?

I disagree with the sentiment that it is perfectly acceptable to be apolitical. Governments can and will legislate your right to exist as you do so it is in your interest to be political.

As someone raised by a very ignorant silent generation grandfather, there is a middleish ground. Listen to the stories. The lesson you may take may not be the intended but can be instructive. Civilization and cooperation are intrinsic. The rules of human cooperation dictate rules of behaving. You do not require a god to establish murder and hording of resources and sexual violence as bad. They are defined as malum in sae for reason, in law.

Community sets the rules, adjudication, and punishment regardless of the inspiration of the rule. A god can provide a framework but people can do it too.

In regard to the second paragraph, I am very much a metaphoric horse who will not even be led to water, let alone drink. This has, unsurprisingly led to a great many humbling moments in my life. In regards to those who “know themselves”, those who are most sure are those least humbled. Even if misfortune never visits you, always question yourself, your actions, and your intentions. You will find insights by doing this as a mindful part of your life.
