Yeah, that was the moment it changed from a social media platform to an advertising platform.

When social media started it focuses on friends. You add someone as a friend and you could see what they were up to.

Then Facebook came along and made it competitive, it became less about seeing what friends were doing and more about posting things that people liked.

As Facebook grew, it changed. One day you didn’t see the stuff your friends posted unless you constantly interacted with their posts or a lot of other people did.

It’s gotten worse and worse since then. They have added more and more ads and posts from people and pages you might know that you no longer see stuff from people you do know.

It’s absolutely worthless.

Here is how it has gone down for a few companies I have visibillity on:

• Investors with enough stock to have influence demand the company use AI and cut staff
• remaining ataff struggles to fit AI into their now bloated workload
• quality slips and stumbles. a few employees are able to make the transition and cause huge AI bills while attempting to cover the workload
• everyone gets upset and nothing gets done well

It looks like investors who have also invested in AI are trying to push its use and it is stumbling all over the place. If a company cant adapt it is basically stripped for parts and sold off to companies that are handling it better.

Watching the US get its economy shredded by a pedophile would be a lot more entertaining if I wasn’t a participant in that economy.

This happens when you burn out your fans with constant releases.

Georgia public transport is shaped by racism and class politics. When Atlanta first started building MARTA, Cobb county didn’t want it so they established a 300 foot wide township that ran along the border of Cobb and Fulton counties. The only law this township had was that no public transit could be constructed in it. The township effectively blocked MARTA from reaching into Cobb county.

Why did this happen? Because when civil liberties came to be Atlanta experienced a “white flight” where white people moved in large numbers out of the city. Most of the white flight landed in Cobb county and wanted to keep black people out.

That’s one of the major hurdles that mass transport has had in Atlanta, there are plenty of others.

I absolutely hate dog poo bags. People will bag the poo the just toss it on the side of the trail. FFS you’re just adding plastic to the poo and making it worse. I would rather just have poo all over the trail instead of hundreds of plastic bags filled with poo 10 feet from the trail.

I’m very impressed by AI but, as someone who grew up with technology I don’t want it outside of a strictly fenced area. I don’t want it reading my emails, documents, code, and spreadsheets. I don’t want that eye over my shoulder that phones home whenever it wants and consumes a huge amount of my system resources.

Very impressed, very don’t want it on someone else’s terms.
