Microsoft has a multi decade history of forcing people into using an trash product due to CIA/govt contracts corruption or something, never due to being the superior product on the market. My guess is that they decided that since it wasn’t going away they might as well get it fully into the news cycle now and the year until midterms will be enough time for it to fade away or be thoroughly MAGAtized so that it won’t be a voting issue.

Should she have hit him? Probably not but I can understand the frustration at being abused and none of the adults willing to do anything about it. Millenials, Gen Z this is your chance. Start running to take congress and senate positions in the next elections. Or find new people to support. Things do not have to stay the way they have been. There is enough of the voting population outside of the boomer gen now to change voting outcomes but you need to put yourself out there and not hope for someone else to do it for you.
In the meantime, do what you can with your spending. Don’t send any money to billionaires even if that means giving up stuff you currently buy. Time to start starving the billionaire class since the (current) governments are owned by them.

As we have learned, many Americans really do think this way. It isn’t even a joke anymore. Americans will vote massively against their own interests so long as they think it might hurt people they dislike.

All US benefits are the same - evil unless a specific conservative person needs them, then they are justified - see abortion, divorce, SNAP, welfare, healthcare, government loans, tax exemptions, etc.

It’s unfortunate that we will never know if the Cuban model could fully succeed. The USA couldn’t take that chance so has had to economically throttle the country for over 60 years. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Cuba had been free to trade with the world. Would corruption have taken over? Would they still spend large amounts of GDP on their people? It’s clear the the USA thought they could make it work and the capitalists couldn’t have that ideological competition right on their doorstep. American citizens might have noticed. As it is, we don’t have enough info to know whether the internal problems could have been overcome or whether they would have gotten worse with a larger economy.

As it has been prophesized for decades. Once the Republicans can no longer legally win they will cheat and steal to keep power. The constitution is only something to cudgel Democrats with, not something to honour.
