As a Canadian I’m not holding out much hope for the US later this year. If Trump doesn’t stop elections, or rig their outcome, I’m not sure Democrats will muster the requisite votes because “both sides”.

Unfortunately you will probably believe that right up until you start losing your lives and then it will be much too late.

Wonder if Venezuelans have figured out yet that their opposition leader sold their country and its oil to Trump in exchange for the Peace prize ceremony?

I’m glad I dated in the 80s. Murder rate was much higher but we didn’t live in fear because there wasn’t a social media algorithm telling us to be afraid of everything.

It’s a bit scary that anything children were once expected to learn has now become “the calculator”. When calculators first came out the cry was ‘why do we need to learn to do math any more when this device can do it for us?’ Computers continued that trend. Smart phones even more so. It is a part of history that is hard to understand, how did a former, reasonably advanced civilization lose its advanced skills? We might be watching in real time how it happens. Except this time it is us, not an ancient civ.

For the rest of the country/world, when you read of someone’s education realize that if it is from Texas, it isn’t real. Move on to next candidate from somewhere that has an education system not a religious indoctrination system.

I don’t continuously wear a monitor, just when I’m experiencing some flux in my glucose measurements. In big print, all the Libre 2 monitors I have had say to double check odd or unexpected glucose readings or reading that don’t correspond with how you are feeling with a finger prick device. I have had the low glucose warning several times and I double check it. Only once has it been a real low glucose reading. Technology can be very helpful but you still have to use it correctly.

Bit choosy isn’t she. What about the subordinate to men part of Christianity? If she is a true believer, she needs to be a good little girl, quit her job and go home.

If by ‘people’ we mean rich men who have no regard for other people and feel they are outside the law, then yes, people. Better to call them what they are rich criminal men. Those criminals are the ones they are afraid of hurting not the actual victims of their abuse.

I think it is about opening the eyes of the racist ICE supporters that in fact they are not safe from what they have initiated. Even if they cannot make the jump to being decent human beings caring about all people, they usually care about what happens to themselves.

Which means, as the law is being followed in the US right now, only the plebs at the bottom might be held responsible.

Same as the US voting in Trump, the warnings were there before the vote.

The thing is, everything has gone exactly right and to plan for Trump and his cronies. All he meant to accomplish was making himself billions, making his family and friends billions, and keeping himself out of jail. Ten months into his term, he has accomplished that. He may even get the remaining 3+ years to continue the grift. Anyone who seriously expected different, is insane.

Awful however now even worse with Trump pardoning a real, not imagined, drug lord. Death without trial (or evidence) for potential and most likely poor drug runners but freedom for a convicted drug lord because he could pay Trump off.

Probably the only way is to start anonymously recommending any Republicans/MEGA for deportation. Most people don’t live their day to day lives with official papers and passports on them. Just say they are good at faking being American but are actually here illegally from whatever country their ancestors came from. They might not get deported but they might spend some time in ICE detention.

To be fair, most Americans agree with the capitalist first approach right up until it affects them individually. If they were willing to help each other instead of believing that anyone other than themself is a freeloader and lazy, they would have the support that other countries take for granted.

My Pixel 6a has about 18 months of support left. I doubt I will be buying any other American based phone then so I’m seriously considering not having a smart phone. I think I have an old flip phone in the closet. It may come back into play.
