You know everybody on the fediverse are old people right? Even the trolls are 30-45 year old trolls.

idk I played Morrowind because I was a huge fan of Oblivion and Skyrim, but when I built my first computer of my own it couldn’t play either due to running on integrated graphics until I got a GPU. Ended up getting Morrowind to have something I could play.

Installing Morrowind on my Android phone with OpenMW was a really good choice. I have to commute a lot by train, and playing a little Morrowind really is a niceway to zone out.

I’m probably old enough, but it’s not a game I played personally.

… unless my alzeimers has already taken those memories from me

I played Morrowind nearly 20 years ago, and I still play it on my phone from time to time

Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. An amazing game set in the same world as Skyrim and Oblivion. Consider checking it out, you can buy it on steam and I suggest playing it with “OpenMW”. It’s a fan-made complete rewrite of the game engine, which fixes a lot of bugs and shortcomings and provides the ability for more modern stuff (running and optimizing it forobile phones, scripting language, modern graphics shaders etc).

Even though it’s old and and you have to read a lot (soon the AI voice lines mods will drop however) it’s an amazing RPG and really weird. Just for reference:

        • There are cat people who love drugs and they once believed that the moon was made of drugs so they just stacked themselves on top of each other to reach the moon
        • Two ancient civilizations had space programs
        • There’s a guy who turned himself into a hermaphrodite god and then had a relationship with the god of rape. When he had enough of fucking and getting fucked, he bit off the god of rape’s penis and made it into a spear. When the goddess of love and beauty told him to stop being such an asshole, he shoved his “spear” down her throat.

Edit: Story wise, the main story is probably one of the most creative stories I’ve ever seen. However, to really enjoy it, you need to either pay close attention to what people are saying, read the in game books, investigate and think for yourself, or read summaries on the Internet.

Edit2: Sorry, I just can’t stop talking about that game which I’ve been playing for 2/3’s of my life. It also features real racism onf display, discrimination, political and religious intrigue and corruption. The problems in this world are often very, very real.

There are 1000s of it not 10000s of video essays on YouTube of MW taylored to genz nerds with hundreds of thousands of views. The elder scrolls is pretty darn popular, Morrowind to boot.

Gate keeping a very odd thing here. Even the Zoomers deserve some OG scrolls game

Unintended gatekeeping. Entirely an unexpected reference with the game popup that’s all.

I don’t get it. Wagner’s leader dies and suddenly it’s the end of the world? We’re talking about the same Wagner that (before the attempted coup) was vilified by western (social) media for being the personal army of Putin, right?

It’s from the amazing 2000’s Bethesda game “The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind”. In this game you have the freedom to kill any character you like, no matter how important they may be.

If you kill a character that’s important for the main quest, no matter if they are “good” or “bad”, before they are supposed to die, you will get this message informing you that you just made completing the main quest impossible and hinting you towards reloading a save - but you can just as well keep playing.

This isn’t about Prigo being good or not, this is about Putin fucking Up.

Nice meme, could we decide on which instance we use though? (I known it’s better solved in the webapp with cross posts, but this better illustrates my point nicely)

(My phone does funny things with multi line screenshots)

I used the cross post button in the webapp, so it links them together. You could try raising a feature request to your client to do some sort of handling of that.

I am not complaining that the app does something I don’t like, I am more so complaining about the frequency of communities existing on two instances and the moderators of them seemingly unwilling to resolve that. The sh.itjust.works community existed for longer but now the reddit moderators decided to go to lemmy.world too. Why does so much fragmentation have to happen across the fediverse all the time?
