minus-squareGrymEdm@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up36·edit-210 months agoFor odd reasons I like a very specific shade of green (around 525nm, I’d call it “emerald”) - it shows a lot of promise in reducing migraine headaches in severity, frequency, and duration for both chronic and episodic patients. It’s an example of what’s called photobiomodulation, which is a technical term for using low-energy infrared/visible light to signal your body to do certain things (as opposed to harmful high-energy radiation like UV rays). Exposure to green spaces has also been shown to help people’s mental health and that’s still being investigated. Another example is using red light therapy to help wounds heal faster and improve skin quality. Red or infrared light exposure for therapeutic reasons was investigated by NASA and adopted by the US Navy. So it’s probably different reasons than you were expecting in a longer answer, but I love those colors because they heal people :)
