I no longer have an Android so idk how the new Sync is, but the version for Reddit was extremely customizable and did have option to disable tap to minimize and give you a button instead. I used Sync daily for nearly 10 years and it’s by far the best experience I’ve had

Thanks for the info, I will have to dig for that option. Part of the reason why I asked to see what I was missing :)
Ask for a settings link in their community. That way you won’t have to blindly search the settings.
Settings shortcut: Comment options > Single click to hide comment
