Tesla will stop making the Cybertruck next year, according to CEO Elon Musk, who said on X that the company will use the factory space to build more two-seater Cybercab robotaxis.

The decision to wind down the futuristic, steel-clad EV comes after just a few short years of underwhelming sales. When Musk handed over the first few Cybertrucks in late 2023, he predicted Tesla would sell around 250,000 per year. It was supposed to be such a cornerstone of Tesla’s future that, before construction began, the company talked about its Texas factory as the “Cybertruck factory.” But Tesla has instead sold just tens of thousands — total — over the last three years.

For $120K you can buy a vehicle that’s an actual car, not a meme gag peddled by a wannabe fascist who wants to fuck children but was so cringe the rest of pedoes didn’t want him in rape island.

My dream is a '59 mercury pickup and a big fuck-off electric industrial power plant.

I only need about 50km of travel in my everyday life andI think the hilarity of an ancient pickup with an EV drivetrain is worth any of the hassles I will run into.

I’m almost ready to pull the trigger on the truck (maybe at tax time) and then settle in for a 5 year project electrifying it.

Hey now, hand me £250m and I’ll take one…to a firing range. That could be really fun actually! And then I’d have enough money to not worry about living my life the way I want.

I’d take one and angle grind the whole body off to replace it with a classic truck or big old caddy or something.

An EV el Camino would be pretty rad.

The rear steering would be a pain to work around though, and with the shitty dash and steering wheel.

Used ones are already going for under $40k.

If it goes under $5k, I might actually be tempted to buy one to use as a gas-free hay hauler.
