Norway voted themselves into socialist policies. Then leftists say it’s not Socialism. But when you say it’s bad in a different argument, they are held up as an example of Socialism. If the voting continues as it has in the past it could become full socialism.

The arguments that are in favor of social democracies are those around the effectiveness of social welfare programs and how effective compassion is as a political root, but that doesn’t make them fractionally socialist and they aren’t held up as socialist countries. I feel like a lot of this follows from a view of “socialism is when the government does stuff”, which I doubt was the definition Calfpupa was using.

What voting trends have you seen that suggest a move towards democratization of the economy over privatization that would be in line with complete democratic control? Further what trends have you seen in freeing neo-colonies from debt trappings and foreign ownership?

they aren’t held up as socialist countries.

The meme is so well known because they are and are not held up as socialist depending on the argument.

It’s not new but oil profits go to their public wealth fund. That’s Socialist with a capital S.

So they voted for Socialism and could continue to vote more.

There’s a difference between private property and personal property. All food trucks don’t need to be run by government employees. Effective taxes and regulations make it state controlled.
