I can pronounce it despite never having studied Arabic. It’s called being vaguely receptive to the people and concepts around you.

It’s not even that hard, I’ve seen names that took effort for my English and some high school Spanish speaking brain to pronounce and that’s not one of them.

It goes to show that they know full well who their audience is. They are actively manipulating the stupid. “We’re trying desperately to appeal to the ‘school bad, football good’ morons. If only their pickup trucks could vote too.”

This response is so telling. Bluesky is fucking AWASH in comments like, “ha! how can anyone be this dumb?” “Has anyone ever been stupider?” “HEY, they said A when yesterday they said B!” Americans still refuse to look at what the far right is doing right in their faces.

This isn’t stupidity, it’s a intentional tactic. For MAGA, it’s a sycophancy test. The more absurd the claim, the more useful the test. Believing it or agreeing with it is so far from the point. It’s about ensuring the base continues to publicly demonstrate their willingness to abandon reality on command. “The more obvious bullshit we ask you to swallow or horrendous racism we can get you to defend, the more enthusiastically you will have to do it because you’d look SO WEAK choosing THIS spot to draw the line.”

For the rest of you, it’s a demoralization tactic. They’re rubbing your nose in how ridiculous they can be and STILL be an electoral threat. They know their supporters won’t abandon them, and they know that their opponents will do little more than express outrage, call them stupid on social media, and move on. “We can say absolutely anything, no matter how absurd, and you still have no choice but to treat us like legitimate opposition. What the fuck are you going to do about it?”

“The animals jump onto the solar panels and get fried,” Trump says. Not because he’s an idiot (which he IS, but that isn’t what’s on display here), but because the truth doesn’t matter when you’re not actually trying to convince anyone of anything. It isn’t about persuasion, it’s a demonstration of impunity. They’re showing everyone listening that they can make a mockery of reality, demand that their followers applaud, and force everyone else to spend their time arguing about whether the fucking animals are actually getting fried.

I was actually referring to the base, not this guy specifically. I understand that the politicians and think tanks and pundits and entire conservative system know exactly what they’re doing. Totally agree with you on all points.

The base knows too. They love how upsetting it is for the people they hate to watch them do this. Their willingness to debase themselves is fueled by spite.

Michael Joseph Rogers? Why does he hide his name? Why is his name this weird? Joseph? It’s not American name, it’s middle-eastern one, and he tried to hide it? And Mike? What the hell is that, he was assigned Michael at birth, what right does he have to change it? What if kids will see it? Groomer, changing names like that.

What this motherfucker is also saying is that if your name sounds like that, he’s not going to represent you and therefore you shouldn’t vote for him or have any expectations of representation. I don’t know if he’s thought this through, but his racism has probably overpowered any higher-level thinking capacity he might have.

Aaand thats why americans only knowing english is a stereotype. The average person on earth speaks more than one language, its only in priviledged imperialist states like russia, usa, china and some poor monocultural countries that its normal to speak one language. Everywhere else you either learn em cause you need it, its prestige or because its good practice to be able to speak to others in their own language. There are many places in europe where knowing three or four languages are not unusual and lets not even talk about africa where there were entire trading tribes whos whole thing was knowing a bunch of languages.

China and Russia are both large diverse countries where different people speak different languages …… and the central government strongly encourages a common one. I wager you’re wrong about them

Yeah but theyre all marginalized and only people who grew up with it speak it. Theres a difference between learning a language youre not related to in any capacity just because its culturally relevant or something and learning a language because youre born with it. There are extremely few second language nganasan, ket, komi, erzya, etc speakers who arent also part of the ethnic group. Thats why people learning languages like cree, navajo, nuxalk, etc as second languages as white americans just because they can is such a beautiful thing. Youre ancestors have taken so much from them but youre trying to make it right. Point is, the vast majority of white, orthodox russians only speak russian and maybe english.

Ironically, America is also much more linguistically rich than that person who doesn’t live here is assuming.

According to the US census, there are 76 million multilingual people, 23% of the population. In March 2025 the White House released an executive order declaring, “…it is in America’s best interest for the Federal Government to designate one — and only one — official language” (The White House). In 2021 there were 5.3 million students receiving English Language Learner services.[104] Additionally, Net immigration rates have drastically increased since 2021 from 247,000 to 2.8 million in 2024 (US census).

Trump wants to keep Americans unilingual.

So if you have 10 people and just 1 of them speaks two languages and everyone else only speaks one lets do some math.

        11 tongues/10 persons = 1.1 average languages per person

        1.1 > 1

“The average person on earth speaks more than one language” is absolutely true purely mathematically
