As an employee, the only time HR is on your side is when you are the revenue stream and your skills are rare.

Or when someone else in the company fucked up. A manager denied my breaks and lunch even after I told him it was illegal. He is in a different state so the rules in his state may be different.

After my initial complaints to the general HR line went unnoticed, I escalated the issue to a much higher level manager.

HR called me back within an hour. HR knew this was a big problem.

The HR person at my company is really nice. I hope she gets a nicer job because being the bringer of shit news feels like it’ll be soul killing.

At one job there was a terrible HR person that sucked the joy out of everything she touched. She eventually was let go.

Her assistant took over and was awesome. She became my work wife.

Someone you work-marry at your workplace. You can have work-children and adopt work-pets with them. I still remember when my first work-son graduated work-university. Ah, I was so work-proud.

Yep. We just hung out and talked a lot. Went to lunch a lot. There was no sexual component. She was engaged and I was divorced.

That’s called “friendship” however if sexual component was the only thing missing then that’s called a emotional affair.

                Weird!

I’ve heard this term before from other people. My previous manager’s boyfriend referred to me as her work boyfriend just because we talked a lot. We were about the same age and grew up in similar socioeconomic environments.
