I’ve been having some performance issues lately, but honestly, I wasn’t comfortable talking to someone I know about it. So I decided to do some research privately.

While searching on Google, I came across a free tool called ManhoodCore, which offers a male vitality assessment. I took the test, and the results surprised me. My overall score was pretty good, but it highlighted habits I needed to work on, especially smoking and poor sleep.

I was expecting something much more serious.

Here’s what confuses me: smoking and drinking Coca-Cola actually make me feel more energized and alert. So how could they be affecting my blood flow and sexual performance?

Has anyone else experienced this? Did cutting back on smoking, sugary drinks, or improving your sleep actually help bring back your morning wood?

I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences.

  • I did that test too. Frickin pissed. I uploaded over a dozen dick pics just like it asked and the results were inconclusive so it said I had to do a video chat with an expert and the expert was a guy with a sock on his hand with a face painted on it and he asked me to do stuff I’m not comfortable with

Smoking absolutely can, as nicotine is a vasoconstrictor and will reduce your blood vessels’ ability to dilate.

Coca-Cola, maybe. In general, being overweight and stressing your cardiovascular system will also be bad for your erections.

I don’t need to tell you that smoking is bad for you in myriad ways, you’ve surely heard it all before. As a former smoker myself, just wanna tell you that you can quit. I did it cold turkey. It was rough for a while, and one of the hardest parts is learning to do your daily tasks without a cigarette.

But you can do it! Quit smoking and mix in some cardio a couple times a week, your boners will thank you.

A lot of it is the nervous system. The nervous system has two divisions with complementary functions: the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) and parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). The SNS activates when the body is under stress, and the PNS activates when the body is at rest and unstressed.

The reproductive system is activated by the PNS (haha). When all is well, performance is good. But if you are under stress, due to lack of sleep or life events for example, performance is not going to be nearly as good.

In your case, your body is receiving things it is not meant to handle. Our lungs are designed to breathe plain old air without any additives, and water is the healthiest thing we can drink. Sugary drinks and nicotine can give you short bursts of energy, but it’s not sustainable. When the energy wears off, you’re worse off than before and it’s stressing your body. By cutting back on smoking and sugary drinks, you’ll put less stress on your body and activate your PNS more, which leads to better well-being all around and improved performance.

Be sure to drink enough water. You can tell if you’re drinking enough water by if your urine is pale and straw-colored. If you’re craving something sweet, you could try fruit juice or an Arnold Palmer instead! Cutting back on or quitting smoking is more complicated, but it can be done with the help of your healthcare provider. You can talk to them about what options are available. In the meantime, part of what makes smoking addictive is the sensation of a cigarette in your teeth, so perhaps chewing gum can help satisfy that and help you smoke less. Your mileage may vary, so this is still something to speak to your healthcare provider about.
