minus-squarescrodumb@lemmy.calinkfedilinkarrow-up5arrow-down2·18 days agoI cannot enjoy rye whiskey at all. I’ll tolerate scotch or Irish but I’m a bourbon man through and through. I have an unopened bottle of pre-Trump Woodford waiting for that glorious day.

minus-squareStabbingSky@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkarrow-up4·18 days agoRye is my goto backpacking whiskey, but otherwise I’m a bourbon man. Or was, I guess, since I’ve retired from drinking.
minus-squareBarneyPiccolo@lemmy.todaylinkfedilinkarrow-up1·edit-217 days agoWhy would you drink different whiskey while backpacking?
minus-squareStabbingSky@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkarrow-up3·17 days agoOriginally it’s because the brand name kinda aligned with the activity (Bulleit Frontier). I was wanting to try a new whiskey, so it made sense. Then it just became what I grabbed before a trip because it was familiar and tasty. It’s also partly because I can drink Bourbon like water, but rye and scotch not so much.
