I’ll copy the whole announcement here for those who don’t want to click:

I regret to inform everyone that my copy of QBittorrent escaped its sandbox last night and downloaded a whole bunch of content owned by major corporations, and then my copy of Jellyfin broke containment and added those unfortunately-downloaded media files to its various libraries. I’m conducting an internal investigation to figure out how this happened, which will involve consuming these media files until the answers become apparent. Thank you for your cooperation during this trying time.

Does that person explain what exactly they mean by “breaking confinement” resp “escaping sandboxing” and how it happened?

    Warning! ⚠️ do not consume!

See the real loophole is that I have de-registered myself as a conscious observer. In the eyes of the government, I have never seen a movie, or watched a TV show, or listened to an album.

For legal purposes: I am not a person, I am a meat popsicle. I am a corporate asset however, so don’t get any ideas: I still have plenty of rights. More than people, at least.

I mean it’s OK - you’re not copying it, you’re using it to train an intelligence.

Even better: Your advancement is critical to ensure the American intelligence industry doesn’t fall behind.

Government: We are inclined to support your cause, but unfortunately, doing so will require annoying little things known as healthcare and worker rights. Denied.

Just feed it to an AI, that makes it OK. I think having a local speech model on your phone in the same room with you while watching should be sufficient.

I have this new AI tool. Free and open source, model and all, and extremely CPU-efficient. Basically you feed it the training data (like some New York Times articles, but it can be any text or binary), and it can produce a 1:1 output when prompted. I call it “copi”; can I get my five trillion tax dollars now?

This new tool is very efficient as you can use it on your own phone, even with a small amount of RAM. It’s called VLC, you train it in real time with “open-source FLAC or Opus files” and you get instant results.

The Jellyfin instance, which normally just plays Ubuntu and other distro ISOs, of course.

I hope this is not against rules 4 and 6, but… I fear it might be?

If you want me to remove the post just tell me (or report it to the mods, of course).

I’m only sharing this because I found it very funny :)

It shows a sad truth of today’s world. People just repeat what they see without questioning it. They share what they see without knowing if it’s true. They bend the news title to get more reach. It sucks.
