it’s fine. and I can have it hot or cold, and using it as an ingredient in anything else is a cinch.

I don’t actually mind an instant coffee. The taste is very consistent while regular coffee can easily get horrendous.

There was a blind taste test where the instant coffee won.

Unfortunately for me, instant coffee gives me a headache.

I prefer to call it a “warm caffeinated beverage”.

The trick is, add the milk before the water so that the granules don’t get scorched!

You have money for instant coffee? At least where I live, it’s cheaper to buy pre-ground in bulk

For grocery store ice cream, they’re the best. Although I don’t like the honey vanilla one.

The only ice cream I like more is the 10$-15$ per 500mL of artisanal stuff.

As someone anaphylactic to peanuts it’s hard to find really good, easily available, peanut free ice cream. This is almost my only option.

A nice hand grinder is less than $100 and can be as low as $50 for something good enough from Kingrind, Timemore, 1zpresso.

I grind on a nice electric before my family wakes up. 15 seconds of electric grinding. Done.

In case you genuinely don’t know what instant coffee is, it’s freeze dried brewed coffee extract basically. Add some to a cup, add hot water, and it instantly (hence the name) becomes a cup of coffee. No filtering or straining needed. It’s not actually coffee grounds, it’s basically solid brewed coffee extract. When it comes into contact with water it dissolves into the water completely, no grit or anything.

Are there any coffee cups that can heat up water or milk and then you can just drink out of it after cooling a bit?

Ideally like a vacuum insulated stainless steel cup for about 0.4 to 0.5 liters. And that can measure temperature and stop at 95°C to stop milk from boiling over.

I don’t remember the name offhand but this definitely exists. There are mugs that you like charge with usb and will hold a beverage at a set temp

I enjoy it, but I have to have real milk and creamer with it. I often like it when I’m feeling lazy to make espresso or something fancy.

I can enjoy a nice cup of specialist coffee, and have some decent equipment for making it - but I am also lazy in the mornings, and as a student I got used to the taste of the cheapest instant coffee, so that is what I drink the most. It is actually an acquired taste, I hated it the first time I had it.
