Maybe they assume you are dumb enough to ask ai so you must be dumb enough to pay more.
Title made me think AI was manipulating prices but it seems to be just pushing the more expensive store.
A search engine presenting people with the most expensive/profitable options via an AI is “manipulating prices”.
They are almost certainly presenting options based on what is most profitable to them, but instead of search where it says “sponsored” and you can scroll through list of links, they assertively provide you with the option, or a selected subset. That is an abuse of power by a criminal cartel monopoly.
