The Soviet Union even did trans state funded surgeries in Riga in iirc the 1970s. The Baltics and Leningrad were seen as the most progressive LGBT wise, and it wasn’t likely to be tried for those crimes in any of those areas.
I didn’t know that, that’s awesome! It only furthers the idea that had socialism continued, they would have continued to develop socially, rather than see the reactionary backslide alongside their dissolution.
