For decades, Idaho laws have allowed parents who belong to the Followers of Christ and other faith-healing sects to pray rather than seek medical care. Since 2015, at least 15 children have died of treatable conditions.
The sad thing is that as I understand it Idaho used to be that old school mind your own business libertarians, wherein they were kinda assholes but they had lines and standards. Sometime in the 70s/80s/90s when the whackjobs started getting pressure put on them in the other western states namely California all the fucked up weirdos more or less overran Idaho which caused it to go from culturally similar to rural San Bernardino in morst areas to what it is now. Oh im not denying that by any means Idaho is kinda a shithole, even if I do like the surplus warehouse in Idaho Falls. Frankly speaking I want to pull that state more than Utah since in Utahs case it’d just be genocide, in Idahos case it’d probably be closer to a humanitarian mission if you wiped out the cults and helped the kids.
