The address multiple sources have reported they’ve chosen is 9219 Old Manor Rd, 78724. This is an awful location in the northeast Austin ETJ (not even in city limits) a block away from Highway 290 and close to nothing else. I couldn’t fathom working for Paramount in Hollywood and being told you have to work outside Manor, TX now. As a long-time Austinite who loves this city, fuck all these right-wing billionaires who think moving to shitty locations in the far-east Austin Metro area is a solution to any of their problems.

The states with the most reported weather-related power outages from 2000-2021 were: Texas (180), Michigan (132), California (129), North Carolina (97), and Pennsylvania (82)…however the populations of Texas and California are nearly three- to four-times larger than Michigan or North Carolina.

Yeah I call shenanigans on that statistic, because it doesn’t control for land area or population. Texas and California are bigger and more populous than all the other states, and so they have more outages. A localized outage in the Houston area and one in the Dallas area are both going to count against Texas here, but the distance from Houston to Dallas in New England covers 6 states

Y’all can downvote because you hate Texas politics, sure. I do too. That doesn’t change the actual data
