I also think the Texas Legislature is a surprising place, the House in particular, where rural Republicans align with Democrats on a number of issues and regularly kill bills together. I’m definitely proud to be from Texas. Having a terrible state government does not define me or my community. I love where I live and can frankly count the number of Trump supporters I engage with on a daily basis on one hand
