Are there any double walled cups out there that are actually durable? Or maybe super thick glass cups that have a similar effect. I love the look of espresso in a double walled glass but with cats I’m worried they could break.

I only did it because I had one of the GCP models with a boiler with the nonstick coating that would flake off, and I was already basically taking the whole thing apart while installing GaggiMate. I wouldn’t really recommend it otherwise, too expensive.

      Fair enough.

How do you like the Gaggimate? Sorry for so many questions, I’m new to GCP and trying to learn all the fun ways I can tinker. I was comparing Gaggimate to Gaggiuino and am leaning more to the former but I’m very undecided still.

No worries! Wouldn’t be in the coffee community if I didn’t love talking about coffee.

It’s great! You get a much more consistent temperature with the PID tuning, you can emulate other shot styles like old school lever espresso machines with the profile builder. You can connect a bluetooth scale to it and it’ll stop the shot automatically when it reaches the target weight. It even increases the steaming power by automatically pumping a little bit of extra water into the boiler while steaming.

It really does turn this budget machine into something that rivals machines that cost several grand. That being said, it’s definitely not for everyone. It requires taking the machine apart, voiding your warranty, and a lot of rewiring, so might wanna wait until the warranty expires. But GaggiMate does a really good job of making the kit they sell easy to work with and the instructions easy to follow.

So if you love the coffee you already make it’s probably not worth it, but if not, and you have $200 and a weekend to spare, it’s totally worth it.

Fair. Yeah, I mean I enjoy the coffee I’m getting but I also love the idea of the Gaggimate, so I might do it in the future. I’m not looking to get it tomorrow or anything, but one day probably. Thanks for the info!
