Wrong! You are pregnant/postpartum. Your husband with cancer starts doing weird out of character shit even going missing. Only to find out he was making meth?! If anything she wasn’t angry enough!
I agree. She would have left Walter if they were real people. But because it’s a TV show, this character had to stay to serve the plot. And as a viewer you see that and it makes you hate how she was written in the second half of the show.
Ehhh, it’s not THAT uncommon for older couples to grow some resentment. The whole boomer, “I hate my wife” DOES come from somewhere, and spiteful people that are legally bound to each other will do all sorts of stupid shit before they split.
… Though usually it’s from people a little more shitty than Walt. The sort of people who turn into selfish egotists a little easier than getting a cancer diagnosis and a bag of cash. Granted, the show did a great job showing how they were both flawed and both had a touch of ego in their normal lives. Walt’s just happened to explode feeding off his resentment of his old business partner.
In Skyler’s defense, she was staying because she was an accessory after the fact, not that she was terribly OK with it. I’ve definitely seen people make that level of dumb decision before, and about as big of life decisions, too, with far less payout than millions of dollars and a viable laundering scheme!
It has been a while since I watched the show, but if I recall correctly, she wanted to leave initially; then, she decided that it would be bad for the family if Walter got caught, so she stayed to help him launder money 🤷 It seems to me, she was ready to split and even cheated to force Walter to let her go.
I am not a lawyer, but I suspect that the more she was getting involved, the worse it was getting for her and for the family - she had two kids for goodness’ sake! So whatever legal reason they brought in the show made little sense to me.
Absolutely agree with the edit, but she was necessary. Keeps the narrative grounded in some bullshit suburban misery, that way when the gangsters and guns show up it has the impact it deserves.
Every time shes on screen though, it signals that the excitement is over, and you best get ready for boredom.
Ultimately, people care much more about what affects their own life than what affects others’. A murderer might be doing objectively worse things, but to someone not affected by those killings, someone who is annoying them will occupy a greater space in their brain, and get a bigger reaction.
The husband going through Cancer turns drugs dealer and in his spiral, so she’s really a victim right? But as the story is progressing, you see her cheat on her husband, gave away the money he risked so much for, used their kids as weapons against him emotionally, use his money and try to take control of his operation.
She’s the worst because she’s never committed fully. (I will admit I am biased against those who cheat though. She is an annoying character).
You can’t even say the drug dealers and killers are the worst because you get what you expect. You know you can’t trust them.
Skyler was the worst person in the series
Edit: I should Clarify, I meant worst to watch. Not the worst Morally
Skyler was a reasonable person in the face of her husband turning into a narcissistic thrillseeker who put his family in danger to serve his own ego.
It was frustrating to watch the conflict but she was not a bad character.

Yeah i agree. My hot take: she acted accordingly and the audience was biased towards walter

Annoying, not worst
Being annoying is worst than being a murderer /s
on TV, in a fictional show … yes
Nah, in reality too. I’ve seen horrible yet charismatic people being praise while quite annoying but overall harmless folks are hated and mistreated.
Ultimately, people care much more about what affects their own life than what affects others’. A murderer might be doing objectively worse things, but to someone not affected by those killings, someone who is annoying them will occupy a greater space in their brain, and get a bigger reaction.
Yep, exactly that.
Nope, Not even by a country mile
Why?
