I am familiar with it, however if your engine cracks from room temp coolant you have a crap product. We do it all the time and that never happens. 20 years now and not once. Buy a better product.
Edit: anyone downvoting, it’s metallurgy and thickness. Kind of like how you can crack glass with cold or cool water. But your coffee makers glass carafe should be tempered and if you put room temp water in it when hot, it should not crack. If it does, don’t buy that brand coffee maker.
