While I assume the US has some form of medical regulation for political positions

I’m not American, but I’ve never heard of such a thing. Why would it be a thing? It’s an elected position, so the people he represents decided that this ancient humanoid was a better representative of their interest than anyone else.

Being laid off or fired is usually for positions you were hired for, not voted into.
