Artificial lakes just do that kind of thing. If you empty them and fill again, you run the risk of getting a more algy equilibrium.
It will probably disappear in some time. Either that or it will become a toxic cesspool that you can smell for kilometers.
As someone who used to like the pool, I hope this happens and stays that way until we sort our shit out.
