Islam is based on Christianity, quran talk about the same prophet in bible. They worship the same god, but expressed it in different way, they also went to war because of it, and abrahamic religion does not like any deviation from the “true” one, so they fight. Nowadays all the sect from christian just tolerated each other(openly, not sure what they do behind the curtain), while the islam one still went to war with each other.
