This leaves an obvious opening for the next Democratic challenger. And the Republican candidate too, if they’re got the guts to go anti-MAGA.

As the article quite correctly points out, Trump got elected because Dems patted themselves on the back while the man on the street was hurting, and Trump said ‘I see you, we’ll bring your job back’.

Now the tables have turned. So in 2028 whichever candidate most says ‘I see you’, they’ll win.

Donald Trump’s the kinda guy who considers World Hunger over because he just had a Big Mac. It’s not that he’s ignorant to other people’s suffering, he just doesn’t give a shit.

And sometimes the distress inflicted is absolutely intentional, so he does give a shit sometimes but only in the worst way.

Oh he’s also very ignorant of it. But that’s because he doesn’t considers those people to be people. So he doesn’t give it a thought

They always talk about “creating” wealth and “making the pie bigger.” Well, it’s time for them to do that instead of squeezing everyone more.

So they openly lied about being able to do it then? Because that’s always been the excuse as to why I’ve heard it OK for there to be mega rich. “They aren’t taking anything from you, they are just making the pie bigger.”

We don’t have to be… We could just start taking out Billionaires and taking their wealth and assets through physical force. It certainly looks like a more attractive option by the day to me.

The US is a financial sovereign. It has the monopoly over its currency: You don’t need the rich ! Govments within a financial sovereign can decide/agree in congress to pay for things they want with the only limit being that the thing/service is available in that currency. It’s called MMT, as american as apple pie, and no MMT is not communist.

Why do the rich hate MMT? Because they get paid risk free interest by offering the guvment their money.

We live in a company town now. Every cent that comes in goes right back out. No savings. No retirement. Our paychecks are picked apart by fees, middlemen, subscriptions to things we used to own, corporations forcing us into choose to pay for everything or figuratively live in a cave disconnected from society. CoL and inflation increases that pay never keeps up with, working more hours, harder, with less people, for stagnant pay, and never getting a break or vacation.

Broke doesn’t mean living in a box under a bridge. You can still have the trappings of modern life, but be a complete slave to the grind with no end in sight.

I think his internal answer is “it doesn’t matter” but the narcissism gives him just enough energy to continue to gaslight, obstruct, and project to keep the attention flowing.

Sometimes I feel like they’re fucking up the economy intentionally. I notice that it’s always enough to fuck over everyone who isn’t rich but never enough to screw up the stock market. Maybe they just want to get rid of the middle class while attempting to make themselves impossible to vote out.

It’s worse than that, no one (well that he doesn’t hang with) are even people to Trump. They’re devices to toy with and to his delight and give him power over a soon to be known as an ex great natiion. We can quibble about the great part but no denying they were a respected entity, now they’re a laughing stock. Least they paid lip service to being better before.

Donald Trump and the Republicans are insisting the economy is great and unhappy Americans are deluded. Just like Democrats under Joe Biden, they’re lying to themselves and everyone else — and will eventually pay the price.

Not until the rest of us have paid way more than they EVER will.
