Even the article you linked states that there is no definitive evidence on the source of the fire.
BYD claims a contractor mishandled equipment and ignited insulation material, which sparked the greater incident. Others speculate that a faulty battery was the source of the fire. Nobody is talking about body panels… and a faulty electric motor definitely can start a fire.
Nobody knows for certain yet, so I don’t know why you’re painting such a strong narrative… other than to antagonize BYD with sensationalism.
