How is telling a staffer to get out of her fucking shot supposed to be a serious political issue? That’s so mild.

Has she considered run as Republican, committing inside trading, abusing her position for personal gain instead? She would have gotten away with it all.

What are you talking about? She doesn’t even trade stocks. She was one of the reps trying to ban trading.

I think they were trying to point out the double standard here. As a Democrat, she gets hung out to dry over a tiny infraction, whereas Republicans are openly corrupt and face 0 consequences. They’re saying if she ran as a Republican this incident would never have been a problem because the bar is so low for them.

Democrats are expected to be as pure as the driven snow and Republicans are expected to be awful and disgusting.

And it’s even worse than that: when the Republicans act in terrible ways, thanks to Murc’s Law, often it is the Democrats who are blamed for not somehow reeling in the Republicans.

It’s bad enough when the Republicans do it, but they are often joined by a the supposed “liberal” media nearly always, not to mention just about every reactionary centrist you ever have the pleasure to know in your personal life…

Yeah I was in California visiting family who watch TV. I haven’t had a TV with like, traditional local/ cable news on it, basically ever, and I’ve had practically no exposure since like, season 6 or 7 of the Simpsons. NGL, just seeing how far the brain rot has gone. Its like, actually mind-blowing and I feel like normies who aren’t versed in media analysis or criticism are legitimately cooked.

        Aaaanyways… to the point.

Between episodes of Price is Right and other forms of propaganda, 100% of the ads were either for Steyer or against Steyer. The family member I was with could only name Steyer, in terms of name recognition. They couldnt name another single name of anyone else on stage.

The only live shows I’ve watched in years is sports. Lately some NBA playoffs have been entertaining, but the ads are insufferable. I’ve been adverse to ads for a long time but especially the gambling ones are just ridiculous.

If you haven’t been exposed to this shit in awhile, then yeah, I could totally see it being overwhelming. Hopefully Steyer can’t just buy enough name recognition to win, but sadly that seems to be one of the biggest drivers of turnout.

The former staffer who Porter told to get out of her “f—— shot” during a 2021 interview with then-Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm did not sign the letter.

At the time, the staffer was making Porter aware of a needed correction to her study she’d cited in regard to air pollution from non-electric cars.

“I wanted to tell you that that’s actually incorrect. It’s not that it’s electric vehicles. It’s that, if we don’t meet the commitments under the Paris Climate Accord,” the staffer told Porter.

“OK, it doesn’t — OK. You also were in my shot before that. Stay out of my shot,” Porter told her staffer, before pivoting back to Granholm

So did Porter actually use the F word? It doesn’t sound like it based on my reading of this. If not, that also drastically changes the severity of the criticism imo
