And it’s not like voting for the other candidate could contribute to preventing him from getting elected. That would be crazy.

Is the point that non-voters’ ability to feel morally superior for refusing to vote is more important than the difference between the harm Trump did and the potential harm Harris would have done?

I’d say that for liberals there’s no place outside of America, and no one whose life matters outside the media, tech, and finance industries. That’s why a genocide in Gaza can be glossed over.

Hard to say what the difference would be since she and every other big name Dem does support genocide, and the campaign was a complete fumble. They ran a guy more senile than Trump, spoke exclusively to big business and changed candidates at the last minute. Blaming voters for the blunders of powerful people is about as childish as it gets, but here we are.

Not that hard, really. Trump is such an outlier that any other candidate from either party would not be able to do as much damage as he does.

He seems like an outlier in a few major ways. One is his temperament. He’s crass and made of bluster. One is the Republican party, which is essentially fascist in the 21st century. That gives them a self-destructive character that can be taken advantage of by the Dems, if they ever decide to grow a spine. The 3rd is all the cameras on Trump, which tend to send liberals to social media so they can lament the awful things he does without having to take political action or hold the Dems accountable for doing a lot of the same things, but with less haste and news coverage.

After that, the differences kinda dry up.
