LLM shoehorning aside, holy shit, mobile-oriented site designs never fail to negatively impress me. Dunno if it’s the poor use of space, way too many pre-made categories shoved in the sidebar, text elements not being as clearly differentiated making them be ADHD triggers/inducers, or something else, but the beta forum for Stack Overflow feels like it ticks each problem I can think of.
Please give the jank. At least jank is usable, predictable and doesn’t make you feel like you need to take focus drugs/meds.

The company that bought SO years ago has been making a bunch of shitty decisions since they bought it. Then LLMs happened and traffic continued to decline, and they been panicking since. This redesign is half baked at best and is being pretty heavily rejected by the community they have left.
Personally I’d start checking out alternatives, as the company is starting to lean pretty far into the Ai thing. I’d recommend looking at https://software.codidact.com/
When they close, it will be a huge loss of information in the internet…
