A bombshell report revealed Monday that under the first Trump administration, the FBI appeared to have issued a “stand down” order to New York Police Department investigators regarding their criminal probe into Jeffrey Epstein, an order that came just five days after the disgraced financier’s arrest in 2019.

The existence of the supposed directive was revealed by law professor and legal scholar Ryan Goodman, who found it buried within the Justice Department’s recent release of around 3.5 million files on Epstein.

“The directive applied to NYPD’s Special Victims Unit – the group specially trained and equipped to handle sex crimes and child abuse cases,” Goodman wrote in a report published Monday in Just Security, a non-partisan law and policy journal.

This is a post about something that happened during Trumps first term. Biden was not president then, and given what we’ve seen during Trump’s second term, why would you think Trump’s cronies in place would do anything other than obfuscate?

I’m not an expert, but I will say — the Fox news is strong in you for bringing up Biden in a post about something Trump’s admin did in his first term. Like seriously, you have a future at that network.

I wholeheartedly agree that Biden could have done more. I even said as much. He was a terribly ineffective (or effective, if you’re a billionaire or billionaire adjacent) president and I hate that he was the only reasonable option to vote for against Trump.

He didn’t. Move on, vote for people to ensure it never happens again.
