There has been leaks that US intelligence are making moves to influence the greenlandic people using intelligence gathering to find pro secession and US elements in greenland. Any talk of the possibility of greenland joining the US as a real possibility only legitimizes an eventual takeover. Greenland has made it clear that they are not interested and that such talk is an insult and a threat to their sovereignty and self governance, current and future.
