Now, why would he do a thing like that?

I’m convinced he will hand the keys (to the US back door and to controlling the rest of the world) to Putin and no level of shock and surprise will make that something he wouldn’t do gladly.

Trump is a coward, that is why he will fold. Do you think Trump sticks with his friends when the going gets tough? Hell no, of course not, he jumps ship and betrays them.

People make the categorical thinking error of assuming Trump is loyal to the people he betrays us for, Trump is loyal to no one in his stupidity, capriciousness and lack of a backbone. Our job is to mercilessly point that out over and over again.

This is unfortunately to be expected.

I will add that Trump is a mere symptom, the cause is US society (ignoring this benefits no one, even the Americans).

I am sorry, but I strongly disagree.

It is a fact that 1/3 of the US voted for him (after seeing what he is like), another third doesn’t care (so they have a measure of responsibility too) and the final third might not have voted for Trump, but a large portion of them are simply too well off (and therefore risk averse) to have addressed the causes of Trump’s rise; broad tolerance of corruption and criminality in US society.

I didn’t say every single American supports Trump or that they voted for him.

That being said, I don’t believe Trump is a magician and that Americans are idiots, who got enamoured by his powerful rhetoric.

Trump hates Ukraine like he hates his own people, everything genuinely helpful he does for Ukraine is something he feels cornered into doing. Don’t mistake this for how people in the US feel about it, we see it as part and parcel of Trump’s betrayals.

The thing we have to remember is Trump has continually approved some degree of support for Ukraine which means he knows he is weak and that we can corner him. This is something we can win on so long as people don’t forget Trump wants to stab us in the back unless we make him look weak and threaten his strongman aesthetic.
