The IRS furloughs came on the same day that the Senate again fell short of passing a funding resolution that would end the federal government shutdown.
Furloughed IRS workers were told in a letter that they will receive back pay when the shutdown ends. That letter came a day after an internal draft memo suggested that the Trump administration might question its obligation to give back pay to some furloughed employees.

It feels like major media companies are manufacturing consent for this by mentioning that memo repeatedly but not pushing back on it. Not even mentioning the legality of it.

If Biden does anything positive he will say he did that. But in this case, Trump is asking “did I do that?”
