Dude, I had never even HEARD of this guy’s name prior to his death. What is going on here!? Why are people freaking out. Am I that out of touch?

Even my liberal wife was aware of who this guy was. Was anyone else like me?

I know who Ben Shapiro is. But Charlie Kirk!? This entire time both the left and the right either hates or adored this guy? What are you all surfing on your cell phones!?

I’ve watched his videos for years. What other sources should I review to discover why this man is so hated? His videos all portray him quite nicely.

His videos where he called empathy a sickness, said homosexuality is a disease, or the ones where he said that People of Color were less capable than white people? Or maybe you haven’t stumbled across him saying that Black people were better off under slavery. Idk, I might just be biased, as someone who he wanted to see eradicated from public life. Maybe if you have a friend who’s black or gay or trans, they might help you out with being able to spot plain and open bigotry that is apparently going right over your head.

The empathy thing is a simple definition thing for me. Empathy and sympathy aren’t the same so I disagree with him there. He was making a point on a higher level - he failed imo since this talking point always comes up.

The LGBTQ stuff - he loved everyone but had some views on all that. Certainly never wished harm on anyone. He just held a traditional religious view re: gays - but certainly never condemned. He thought TQ is a mental disorder. Again, never talking down and always approaching with love.

There’s people who think parts of my lifestyle are a mental disorder. That’s their problem, not mine tho.

Black people under slavery comment was part of a whole discussion and used as a talking point during debate. He made a lot of good and bad points regarding race in the USA; I didn’t agree with them all or need to do research on others. But I certainly never heard him talk down to people or approach any of his stances with hate or anger. In fact I’ve seen several instances of him letting a supporter of his know they are racist and wrong. Definitely never caught a whiff of racism from him.

He absolutely never said that black people are less capable than white people.

Who did he want eradicated from public life? Did he want them eradicated, or just disagree with some ideology of theirs?

It must be nice that there’s not a dedicated ideological movement hell-bent on making it your problem.

Who did he want eradicated from public life?

          Transgender people.

Honestly it seems like you’re pretty dedicated to just defending this guy’s ideas and ideology, so you know exactly what you’re doing and why it’s wrong, and it’s a waste of time to talk to you.

I’m sorry you feel that way. I am genuinely looking to learn why people think Kirk was a bad person, with sources for their claims.

Regardless of the abrupt end of the conversation, thanks for replying and providing your point of view.
