- The One Piece pirate flag, first used in Indonesian protests, is spreading across Asia and beyond as a symbol of youth resistance against injustice and authoritarianism.
- Inspired by Indonesia, protesters in Nepal, the Philippines, and France have adopted the flag, representing freedom, defiance, and a growing movement against corruption.
- Experts note social media amplifies the flag’s spread, fostering international solidarity and reflecting a deeper shift towards social justice and democratic ideals.

Anger over corruption and nepotism fuel Nepal’s deadly protests over social media ban
The thing that most people, including this article get wrong is that this isn‘t really about social media. I mean yes they organized the protest over social media and yes they are upset about a proposal (that has since been withdrawn by the way). It‘s an aspect of it but they are upset about a range things including high unemployment rates among young adults which is why they continue to burn buildings. At this rate they‘re provoking a military coup.
