Apropos of nothing, I think it’s funny your reply has twice the upvotes as my comment. I don’t care about karma in itself, I’m curious if either: 1. My comment was just genuinely half as entertaining as yours or 2. i suspect just a lot of people or instances have divbyzer0 instance blocked. If it’s the latter, that’s a real bummer. We’ve got a couple of outspoken users but I wasn’t aware out little anarchy corner was reviled on the level of hexbear or ML. (Or maybe I’m just one of those outspoken users getting personally blocked! 😱)

If someone had you blocked they wouldn’t be able to see my response. Same with the instance. The base comment needs to be there for mine to appear. Dbzer0 is also not really blocked by anyone and one of the more popular instances.

(blocking instances does not block the users if they post outside of the blocked instance, BTW)
Hmm… I have so much still to learn about the finer nuance of threadiverse mechanics.
(Also, as I’ve looked back at it now, stamets is a popular user and OP, and comments that clarify early ones often rank highly so it basically makes sense to me now. Just the kinds of idle things that people with too much time ponder.)
Then I’d like those people to block me too so I dont have to see their comments. Not because I disagree with them. Just seems like some of Lemmy’s patented melodramatic pearl clutching.
Anyone know of any good software to chart these relationships? I tried with Obsidian but they are limited to 4 relations per node.

A friend I made recently invited me to a party a couple weeks ago and didn’t even mention it was an all gay/bi/pan furry meetup from the local furry group. I was expecting just people eating and talking and habging out like any other party. But I was pleasantly surprised by all the cuddling and naked hot tub shenanigans when I arrived. 😃
